Rating: 4/5 Location: Lipson Cove campground, Eyre Peninsula, South Australia – Lat: 34 15 43 S Long: 136 15 38 E On Friday morning, we left The Knob Beach and headed south along Eyre Peninsula's scenic coast. We had researched several potential free campsites on the internet and also in the Camp 7 book and decided to check them out one by one due to their close proximity to one another. We visited Redbanks, Carrow Wells and Cape Hardy Beach (aka Cowley's Beach). Redbanks looked OK, but the signage was a bit confusing as to whether you actually could camp there or not. It was also quite exposed to the weather and since we've discovered that the peninsula enjoys such robust winds, we decided to venture further southward. Carrow Wells would be adequate for an overnighter but you cannot see the sea from the camp. I also reckon there might be a few eastern browns lurking in the camp's bushland ready to slither over and enjoy the dogs' drinking water if it was left outside the caravan overnight.
